>Beautiful Beach Weddings

It’s nearly Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere (yippee) and thoughts turn to gorgeous weddings.
In this 2 part series I’ll share fresh ideas with you for beach and tropical weddings.
Today, the focus is on beautiful beach wedding inspiration and ideas. Beach weddings are so romantic, ethereal, feminine and fun – just love them.
How absolutely gorgeous is this montage?
The soft floaty pastel colours are so romantic and very attuned with the
coastal elements and setting.
This montage is similar to the last image with maybe a few
more castaway beach images.
These little conch shells make a very pretty border down the aisle.
I really like the woven beach mat idea too.
How cute are these nautical inspired bridesmaids?
The parasols are just so lovely as well as practical.
The finishing touches to add coastal style in detail.
A collection of flip flops for guests at the beach, love the aqua,
would equally look good in a natural basket too tied together
with raffia.
I like this, it encourages guests to really get into the
spirit of a beach wedding with sand between the toes.
Beach weddings are fun, no wonder they’re so popular.
I love this, its such a cool idea. Coastal keepsakes in an old vintage
pocket watch.
How funny, an interesting take on the ‘Just Married’ sign.
Stay tuned for the next installment when we look
 at gorgeous Tropical weddings.

I am in the process of planning my beach wedding and have fallen in love with your photo of the woven beach matt runway with shells – is it possible for me to purchase this or could you let me know where I could find one.
    Thank you

      Hi Stacy,

Thanks for your enquiry. How exciting that you’re planning a beach wedding. I’m celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary this month after my beach wedding in Sydney all those years ago. You are so lucky as there are many more stylish ideas out there now for beach style weddings, and many more resources to tap into.

With the woven beach mat it looks to me like it’s several thin beach mats sewn together. These are the inexpensive ones you can buy anywhere, they’re usually rolled up with carry handles. These would be easy to convert into one long mat for an aisle. You can also try inexpensive bamboo blinds, cane furniture retailers (these guys will have manufactuer contacts who may well produce long woven mats) and of course you can google to find a supplier.

The small conch shells you’ll be able to source from a variety of suppliers – just check it’s from a reputable and sustainable source. Either go for several mid sized shells as pictured or source larger ones and have just a few of these scattered to hold down the mat. I’ve also seen green coconuts used as well if the beach weddings in a more tropical place.

Last tip. beaches can get a bit breezy depending on the time of year for the wedding, I would also look at small tent pegs to anchor down the mat for security. My husband went to the beach early morning of our wedding and raked the aisle area to get an even and flat surface. This was great as I walked down the sandy aisle with plenty of ease – and that was with heels on!

All the best Stacey for your big day.

      Kindest island regards

      Zoe x
